Staff Spotlight

Karen Vaughn

Transportation Specialist for Briarcliff and Clairmont Oaks/Activities Assistant

Karen is the transportation specialist for the residents of both Briarcliff and Clairmont Oaks (our sister property). She has been with the company since 2019. Karen is responsible for the safe transportation of residents to various events in the community including, but not limited to, the grocery store, Walmart, restaurants and special events. She operates our 14 passenger bus with a wheelchair lift with competence, care and a smile… assisting residents on and off the bus as well as loading and unloading their various purchases.

Additionally, Karen assists in the planning, scheduling and decorating for resident activities at Briarcliff Oaks. Her decorating skills are unparalleled, creating a feast for the eyes as well as the mind by not only creating beautiful displays but offering information about the event/ holiday/ etc. we are celebrating. She also has wonderful knack for organization. The building has never looked so good.

Favorite part of the job:
My favorite part of the job is interacting with residents and staff as well as decorating for resident activities.

Hobbies/Interests:
I enjoy photography, drawing and painting.

Favorite work memory in the past year:
My favorite memory was when we hosted a resident Art Gallery. The residents were able to display their paintings, drawings, photography, pottery, origami and even published books. It was amazing and inspiring. I was in awe of just how talented the residents of Briarcliff Oaks are.
